Using Your Human Design Profiles in Your Branding

Building a strong brand is a vital element of a strong company. Your brand is not only for marketing strategies and to communicate to your customers; your brand also helps remind you of what you stand for, what you value, and who you want to be. Energetic branding brings forth your values, mission, and vision, and challenges you against the highest of your personal standards.

When you are the embodiment of what you stand for, everything you say becomes magnetic, valuable, and a strong representation of the transformation that you can help others achieve. Your energy is your best marketing strategy, and it is underutilized because it requires energetic work, and energetic work requires you to do the inner work.

Building an energetic brand starts with creating authenticity. You don’t have to complete all the inner work in order to start building an energetic brand. The purpose isn’t to only show up in perfect energy that portrays your absolute best work 100% of the time. The goal is to be real. A strong brand is a real one, not the illusion of one. That means that your first step in creating an authentic brand, and to figure out what is real and what is an illusion.

Building an authentic brand starts with being authentic from the inside out. You have to get to know yourself, your current patterns, your current behaviors, and your current energy. This can get uncomfortable. As you do this self reflection, give yourself grace and compassion. The first step in any transformation is identifying where you are starting from.

To help get you started, let’s use the Human Design Profiles as a prompt. If you don’t know your human design profile, you can get your chart here. Your profile will be a combination of two numbers that will look like a fraction: 3/5 or 6/2. For the purpose of starting off with branding, we are going to use only the first number you see in your profile. This is your conscious profile line, the theme of your life’s work, and a large percentage of your overall energetic impression on other people.

Line one (1/3, 1/4 profiles)
The first line represents the researcher. Part of your magnetism is in the joy of finding and discovering new things and facts. The line one is designed to be a learner, and you will likely find yourself constantly exploring new topics. Use what you learn as prompts for your content creation. Share what you are studying, and share what you discover and uncover. The topics you are drawn to study and learn about are a huge part of your personality. You are an investigator at your core, and sharing the details and evidence you have uncovered will allow your excitement to be felt by your audience.

The shadow of the line one is the line six. You may feel the pressure to create something new, and there may be a deep fear of plagiarizing the work or stealing the ideas of other people. You are not responsible for creating new concepts. Exploring ideas that excite you and sharing what you learn with others, either from your personal experience or from watching others, will feel fluid and natural to your audience.

Line two (2/4, 2/5 profiles)
The second line represents the hermit. The hermit archetype represents someone who does well when left to their own process to figure things out. You watch others and learn how to do things yourself, oftentimes without formal education. Share what you see when you are learning and watching others. Recognize your natural genius and let yourself be really good at things. People will feel your magnetism when you allow yourself to just do you and let it be easy.

Part of your biggest challenge will be learning to trust that you understand things in a unique way and you kind of just understand how to do things. There may be a pressure to share the evidence, the research, and the facts that prove and explain how you do what you do, but you have nothing to prove, and you don’t need factual evidence to justify your results. Let things be easy for you, and share how you do things with others.

Line three (3/5, 3/6)
The third line represents the martyr. The third line learns through doing and taking messy action. Part of your process is trial and error, which means that being authentic means sharing your honest experiences and what you learn through the experiment. You have to create chaos to give yourself information so you can grow. The first try is always for learning purposes. Let yourself learn, and let it be messy.

You make people feel safe in their own experiments. You show that it is okay to not get it right the first time. You show that it is just as valuable as the result that it creates. Celebrate your accomplishment, not the result. Look at what you did, not what it led to. Celebrate the journey, not the destination.

Line four (4/6, 4/1)
The line four represents the opportunist. The fourth line starts to look outside of itself and at other people. You have incredible observations and insights into other people's lives. Your gift is in your analysis of others. You are a part of your community by nature and want to provide opportunities for others whenever you can.

Create opportunities for introductions. Share case studies, observations, and interpretations of what is going on in your industry. Talk about people, talk about the patterns you see, and the behaviors that you observe. This is part of your magic - you make people feel seen and cared about.

Line five (5/1, 5/2)
The line five represents the heretic. This line continues to look outside of itself and at others, but does so with an element of judgement. Your judgments and the conclusions that you draw about why certain behavior patterns exist is part of your magic. I know. You have probably never been told that you should be more judgmental in your branding and marketing, but that is exactly what I am saying.

Being more judgmental is not about being mean or causing drama. For your authentic brand to shine through, you need to be brave enough to call out the BS and say what others are afraid to say. I recommend pointing out the behavior pattern, but focusing your energy on empowering the behavior you want to see. People don’t like to share things that make them feel bad about themselves, so offer the solution and call that forward inside of them.

Line six (6/2, 6/3)
The line six represents the role model. You are designed to gain experience and lead the collective one step further in our evolutionary patterns. You are an industry leader and a visionary. You are here to create what has not been created yet. This requires you to gain the experience necessary to create something new.

Bringing forward your genius will require you to accept that you have cutting edge ideas (even if you haven't been in your industry as long as you think you should be before you become innovative). Be innovative and share the ideas that you have that nobody else has. Create the things that nobody else has created yet. Go where nobody has gone before, and share your experience. Watching you in your process is even more valuable than whatever you create, because you show others how to evolve by evolving yourself.
